Deciding between repair and replacement
Before arranging window or door work, make a short list of what is not working and when you first noticed it. For example, a repair request may involve broken glass, a door that no longer slides smoothly, or a visible gap near the frame. If you are considering new windows or doors, note whether you are asking about impact or non-impact options. These details can help clarify the type of work you want to discuss.
Preparing for a leak or sealant concern
For suspected water entry around a window or door, observe where moisture appears and whether exterior sealant looks cracked, separated, or dried out. If practical, take a photo of the area and note whether the issue appears after rain or during other conditions.
Planning an installation
When considering new windows or doors, list the openings involved and any preferences about impact or non-impact units. Measurements, photos, and notes about how each opening is used can be useful starting points for a project conversation. If you are replacing an existing unit, mention whether the current concern is damage, operation, or water around the frame.
