Getting ready for a home solar project
As general preparation, homeowners can collect recent electricity bills, consider how household energy use changes through the year, and note roof areas that are shaded. It may also be useful to review the roof's age and condition and make a list of questions about project scope, equipment, and coordination. These steps help a homeowner explain priorities when exploring residential solar installation.
Planning for a commercial property
For a commercial solar project, start by clarifying the property's energy needs, operating schedule, and the goals the business hopes to meet. Identify potential installation space and any practical constraints, such as access or planned changes to the property. This preparation can help a business describe its needs when discussing commercial solar installation.
Compare project scope, not just equipment
When reviewing solar installation options, compare what each proposal includes, how the equipment is specified, and who would coordinate the work. Ask how product support and warranty coverage apply to the particular equipment under consideration. These are general questions to help clarify a project; they do not imply a particular provider process or warranty term.
