About Thompson Construction & Remodeling
Thompson Construction & Remodeling is a Fort Lauderdale general contracting firm offering residential and commercial construction and remodeling. Its work includes kitchen and bathroom remodeling, home additions, interior and exterior projects, structural work, wall and framing repairs, stucco, painting, roofing, and siding. The firm also describes new-building construction for property owners developing a site. Projects may involve several decisions at once, from the intended use of a space to structural considerations and finish selections. The firm’s approach includes working with trade subcontractors and coordinating with architects and engineering specialists when a project calls for their input. For customers, a useful first step is to define the outcome they need, identify any known constraints, and gather plans, photographs, or measurements that can help clarify the scope.

Make the project scope clear
Before discussing a remodel or addition, separate essential changes from optional improvements. Note which rooms or building areas are involved, the intended use of the finished space, and any existing conditions that could affect the work. For a commercial project or new building, define the property’s intended function and the broad requirements before narrowing down design choices. These steps are general preparation advice, not a description of a required company process.
Consider design and building needs together
A change to a home’s layout can involve more than finishes. When preparing for a kitchen remodel, bathroom update, or addition, consider how the new arrangement will function and whether structural or building-system questions may need attention. The firm describes coordination with architects and structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers as part of its project context. Ask which design or technical decisions should be resolved before finalizing the scope.
Compare the work you need
The work ranges from room remodeling and additions to repairs and exterior projects. When comparing options, make a written list of the areas included, the changes requested, and any related work you want considered. For a kitchen or bathroom project, design needs may be relevant alongside construction; for an exterior project, clarify whether the request concerns roofing, siding, stucco, or painting.

Questions about Thompson Construction & Remodeling
What should I prepare before discussing a kitchen or bathroom remodel?
Write down what needs to change, who uses the room, and which features matter most. Measurements, photos, and any available plans can help explain the existing layout and make design discussions more specific.
What information is useful when planning a home addition?
Start by identifying the additional space you need and how it should connect to the current home. Existing plans and notes about the rooms or functions the addition should accommodate can help define the project’s scope.
What should a property owner consider before a new-building or commercial project?
For a new building, begin with the intended use of the property and the broad requirements for the building. For a commercial renovation, note the areas involved and the changes needed so the project can be discussed as a defined scope.
What details should I gather about a wall or framing repair?
Describe where the damage is, what materials are involved if known, and whether the concern affects a wall, framing, or exterior surface. Photos can make the location and visible condition easier to explain.
Can I ask about both interior remodeling and exterior work?
The services include roofing, siding, stucco, and painting, as well as interior remodeling. Identify which surfaces or areas are part of the project and whether the work is intended to address a specific repair or a broader update.
