Glazing, stencils, patterns, textures, and metallic finishes
These options provide different ways to consider pattern, texture, and surface appearance. The right questions depend on the effect you want and where it would be used.
Professional color consulting
Color consulting is offered for projects where choices need to be considered alongside the surrounding space and its existing finishes.
Prepare for a decorative finish discussion
Start by identifying the room or surface and the result you hope to achieve. A few clear photographs, measurements, and images that show colors or textures you like can help make the conversation concrete. If the project involves an existing finish, note what it is and whether it needs to remain part of the design. These are useful preparation steps, not requirements for working with April.
Choose a direction before choosing a technique
Think first about the visual effect: a mural, a stone-like or wood-like treatment, a patterned detail, or a change in surface texture. Once the desired effect is clearer, you can ask about the relevant options, such as marble and stone finishes, woodgraining, stencils, or textures. A reference image can help distinguish between similar ideas.
Bring the project's context into color planning
For color consulting or a larger decorative project, consider how the proposed work relates to the room's existing colors and furnishings. Make a short list of what should feel prominent and what should remain visually quiet. April works with homeowners and design professionals, so a concise description of the project's goals can help focus a conversation around preferences and expectations.
