Make a clear repair list
For several small jobs, write each task separately and note its location. Include details such as a loose shelf, a damaged cabinet door, or a leaky faucet. Grouping related repairs can make it easier to explain the scope and identify which items are most urgent. This is general preparation advice, not a statement about how a particular visit will be handled.
Plan kitchen or bathroom work
Before asking about cabinetry, countertops, or tile, consider what needs to stay and what needs replacement. Measurements, photos, and notes about existing materials can help communicate the project. For fixture or disposal issues, describe the symptoms rather than assuming the cause.
Prepare for painting or installation
For painting, identify the rooms or surfaces and any visible repairs that may affect the work. For a fan, light, shelf, or window treatment installation, note the item and its intended location. These details can help keep questions about the job specific without assuming a particular provider process.
