Business description

We are a father, son, & son team in the construction management (commercial and residential) business. We have done jobs as small as painting a bedroom to multimillion dollar homes. We are all originally from Michigan and slowly started moving to Florida sunny in 1997. Frank (father) was the first to come. He offers 23 years of experience working in corporate, and 12 additional years of running his own company. John came to Florida a few years after Frank. His background was in construction and also has 7 years on the retail home improvement side before he moved. After moving to the area he realized he had more to offer his customers than just advice on what to buy or how to use specific products to remodel or decorate their homes. John started "John's Handyman Services" with the help of Frank running the behind the scenes business side. Eventually they got to be so busy that Frank and John together formally created Watercastle Development Company LLC. Once again the company got to be larger than life, and the work was getting to be too much for just the two of them. In 2006, Frank made son Michael "an offer he couldn't refuse" to come join the family business here in South Florida . Michael had been working in the banking and business management industry since graduating from college, and was eager to take on the challenges ahead. He took over some of the financial, operational, and management duties of the company. Since 2006, Frank, John, and Michael have tackled many new construction projects together. They continue to strive for excellence and challenge each other to do their best all while smiling, laughing, and enjoying life along the way.

Prepare a clear project brief

As general preparation, write down the spaces involved, the work you want done, and the result you hope to achieve. For a larger residential or commercial project, separate essential work from optional improvements. A brief that distinguishes confirmed decisions from open questions can make it easier to discuss the intended scope.

Compare materials by how a space is used

For flooring and countertop choices, consider daily use, cleaning needs, appearance, and how each material fits with the rest of the room. The options include marble, wood, and carpet flooring, plus granite countertops. Bringing measurements and a few preferred examples to a planning conversation can help keep comparisons focused.

Think through connected work

A kitchen, bathroom, or condo project may involve several decisions at once. As general planning advice, note which elements depend on one another, such as cabinets, plumbing, flooring, and finishes. Clarifying those relationships helps you identify the questions that need answers before the scope is settled.

Common customer requests

Painting scope

Ask about interior or exterior painting for a room, a larger renovation, or another defined area. Sharing approximate dimensions and the surface condition can help clarify the scope.

Plumbing work

For plumbing work, describe the fixture or area involved and whether the request is part of a broader project. Note any visible symptoms so the issue can be discussed clearly.

Kitchen or bathroom updates

For a kitchen or bathroom project, identify the cabinets, countertops, flooring, or other elements to be changed. A list of priorities can help separate essential work from optional upgrades.

New construction or build-out

For a new-construction or condo build-out project, outline the intended use of the space, the work you expect to include, and any decisions that are still open.
