About Art By San Murals & Paintings
Art By San Murals & Paintings is the art practice of Sandra Priest, also known as San. She creates murals for walls and ceilings, paintings on canvas, and sculptures. Her work serves residential and commercial settings, and can take the form of art painted directly onto a surface or a canvas piece. The available work includes both indoor and outdoor murals, as well as faux painting and decorative finishes. San works in oil and acrylic for canvas paintings, and her projects can include varied colors and subjects such as underwater scenes, sunsets, birds, and other imagined designs. Customers considering a piece can use her catalog of existing images to explore styles, and her approach to artwork allows for collaboration on a client's concept. The range covers a lasting feature for a room as well as framed or unframed artwork for a collection.
Business description
Since 1996 Sandra Priest, aka, San, has been a professional artist creating murals, paintings on canvas and sculptures all over The United States. Her use of a vast color palette and fun imagination can bring you blue underwater seascape, a vibrant sunset or water birds next to a serene pond scene with delicate grasses. Whether you have a home or business, San can create whatever your heart desires as a wall or ceiling mural, framed canvas or a memorable sculpture for your own collection. She will come to you with her catalog of hundreds of images she has already created, to help you decide what style you would like to fit your personality. San says she loves collaborating with people to bring to life the artwork they imagine. She wants all of her clients to be part of the process. Contact San today and start the process.

Wall and ceiling murals
Custom artwork can be painted directly onto walls or ceilings, for indoor or outdoor settings. Subjects may include underwater scenes, sunsets, birds, or another visual idea.
Canvas paintings
Canvas artwork is available in oil or acrylic and can be framed or unframed. A canvas can be considered as a standalone piece for a home, business, or personal collection.
Faux painting
Faux painting techniques are available for rooms as a decorative alternative to standard wall painting.
Decorative plaster
Decorative plaster techniques are included in the offered artistic finishes.
Gold and silver leafing
Gold leafing and silver leafing are available for options for adding metallic detail to an artwork or decorative surface.
Sculpture
Sculpture is part of San's fine-art practice and is available as artwork for a personal collection.
Plan the artwork around its setting
As a planning step, note whether you are considering a wall, ceiling, canvas, or sculpture, and whether the work will be indoors or outdoors. For a mural, estimate the surface area and take a photo of the space so you can discuss how the artwork might relate to the room or building. For a canvas piece, consider where it will hang and whether you prefer a framed or unframed presentation. These details can help focus a conversation about the format and subject.
Bring a visual direction, not just a color
If you have a particular idea, collect a few reference images and make a note of the feeling or subject you want the finished piece to convey. San's catalog of existing images can also help a customer compare styles. Subjects in the available artwork range from underwater scenes and sunsets to birds, while the broader portfolio includes a wide range of colors. Treat references as a way to explain your preferences, not as a requirement to settle every design choice in advance.
Choose the right kind of painting service
Fine-art wall painting is different from ordinary roll-on house painting. The work includes murals, faux painting, decorative plaster techniques, and gold or silver leafing; the source distinguishes these from routine house painting. If your main need is repainting a home in a standard color, clarify that distinction early. If you want an artistic feature, identify whether the project is a mural, a decorative finish, or a separate canvas work.

Questions about Art By San Murals & Paintings
What kinds of surfaces can have a mural?
A mural can be painted on a wall or ceiling, indoors or outdoors. Before planning one, consider the surface, the size of the area, and the subject or visual style you want the artwork to express.
Can I request a painting on canvas instead of a mural?
Canvas paintings are offered in oil or acrylic, and can be framed or unframed. Thinking about where the piece will be displayed can help you decide on its orientation and whether you want a frame.
Are decorative finishes available for a room?
Yes. Faux painting techniques and decorative plaster techniques are among the offered services. When considering a room finish, it can help to identify the surface and the overall effect you want before discussing which technique fits the project.
Can artwork include gold or silver leaf?
Gold leafing and silver leafing are available for decorative options. For a project that uses either finish, consider where you want the metallic detail and how prominent it should be in relation to the rest of the artwork.
Does San create sculptures as well as paintings?
Sculpture is included among San's artwork. If you are considering a piece for a collection, think about its intended display location and the kind of subject or feeling you have in mind.
Can I ask about an outdoor mural for a business?
The work includes residential and commercial projects. For an outdoor mural, it is useful to identify the surface and setting and to share the intended subject so those details can be considered when discussing the artwork.
