Set a clear project scope
As a planning step, separate must-have changes from optional improvements. For a kitchen, that might mean noting whether cabinets, appliances, or both are under consideration. For a bathroom, list the relevant items such as the shower, tile, toilet, or vanity. A written scope can make it easier to compare the project you have in mind with the work being discussed.
Prepare for a smaller fix or a room update
The work spans individual bathroom fixes and more extensive kitchen or bathroom remodeling. Before discussing a smaller plumbing or fixture concern, note what is not working and where it is located. For a broader update, consider which existing components you hope to retain. These are general preparation ideas, not a statement about how the business carries out projects.
Think through the finish choices
For projects involving tile, cabinets, showers, or appliances, it may help to collect a few examples of the look and function you want. Keep practical preferences in mind too, such as storage needs or how the room is used. This can help you explain priorities without assuming that any particular material or design option is available.
